Barbara and Michele at Christmas
My sister and I in 1960 with black dolls for Christmas. I am ten and Barbara 9. We are living in the Bronx and engaging in one of our favorite games to drive poor mother (who is taking the picture) crazy--smiling very hard as we say cheese!
In the background is a watercolor by Mom (Faith RInggold) of the scene at Camp Craigmeade, the black camp we continued to attend in the summers until Aunt Helen Meade died.
